Default How many of you have a reputation at work as a "maniac driver?"

Whether you deserve the rep or not, how many of you are at least perceived that way by your friends, family or co-workers?

No one from work (to the best of my knowledge) has really seen me drive around town, but somehow I've picked up the rep as some kind of daredevil or worse, a reckless driver. At first it was funny, but now I'm just perplexed by the assumption.

I deserve it. It's not hard to pick up the reputation, especially when you take a co-worker out at 140mph on a lunch break! Keep in mind this was the first day back at work after purchasing the car. Needless to say, the story got around quickly.

Something Wicked,

I know where your coming and I feel for you. I have the SAME problem. I don't drive fast, I'm usually very safe, yet I'm the reckless driver of all my friends.

Everybody knows that I am a manic on the road, but I pail in comparision to a coworker who has a full race prep 93 rs that he drives on the street to work almost 3 days a week.

He is what I strive to be in a few years. Plus he teachs the PCA driving schools and is a all around cool guy.

Just a quick story, I pucked up a nail in my tire about 4 months ago. I decide to get it fixed at the local discount tire where is get most of my work done. Wee to make a long story short, the manager of the store comes running out to meet me at the door, we sat there and talked tires for a while and then he tells me that me was picking his girlfriend up at her job. At a local hotel where she worked as a wine stewerd.

Well she had seen S while i was there for a meeting and taken a picture of it to show her boyfriend. He went nuts lusted after the car for like 3 months has saved his pennies and informed me that he will be getting one in about 2 months.

I resemble that statement .

I make the comment that people are on MY ROAD all the time, and THE WORLD IS MY RACETRACK is frequently heard coming out of my mouth. Truth is, I speed, and the world is my racetrack, but I do it responsibly (if there is such a thing). I don't speed in residential areas, nor do I do 110 on the Interstate, but get me on a backroad and look out. I stay on my side if there is no line of sight, if there is...IT IS MY ROAD...lol.

F&#$ Em', let em' eat cake

Count me in! But face it, aren't most people boring drivers? It is my opinion that most accidents are caused by people going too slowly, or not knowing where they are going than people who drive aggressively (but safely).

I have had people drive with me, and just because I change lanes because a line of cars is at the traffic light, I am "reckless".... go 10 MPH over speed limit? Then I am a "speed demon".

Driving is a series of making decisions, sometimes split second decisions. Most people have enough trouble deciding what to eat while standimg in line at MacDonalds, driving has to be a real brain teaser for them......

ME TOO ...but I think I deserve it though...took my boss for a 170mph (or so..burried on rev on 5th gear on my Z)...hehehe...I sware he just about passed out...that was sometime last year...needless to say, I heard that story just about everyday...hehe..

And then I took an account executive on a bike ride on my R1...she said she never had gone faster than 100 mph in any vehicle.......well, let's just say we beat that record by about 80%.....wheee-haaaa!!!

BUT, NO, I am not a maniac...I just act like one!!!
