Just curious. I have 18x8 and 18x9 SSR GT1's which i know add about 15-18lbs of unsprung weight. What i would like to know is how much my tires add/take from this. I have yoko 225/40 and 255/35. Thnx,

Yokohama's tend to run heavy. My Kumho 225/40/18's weigh 25.2-lbs and I know your front Yoko's weigh at least that much. The rears considerably more. My newbie tires however, weigh 19.4-lbs (yay!). Can't wait to get them on with the 13.5-lb 16-inch wheels. BTW, the SSR wheels you have I believe weigh at least 18-19-lbs. The Competitions are light however.

The price for bling is high is it not?

The price is high, but not too high. SSR's are a good cross between bling and bang. The way i see it, low profile means a slower car, but, if i'm not mistaken, when properly tuned will handle better and "feel" better than a car with regular rims/tires. 18/19/20, what ever the weight, its not bad compared to the "light weight" stock rims that weigh nearly as much. Hmmm, how much weight would i actually save by putting nitrogen in my tires??? Helium i suppose would work.... expensive. 5lbs?

Anytime weight is moved away from the hub it is a (time-wise) performance robber compared to the same weight that is closer, so 18-inch wheels that might weigh the same as the 16-inch OEM wheels would still make your car less quick, especially if the diameter of the tire is larger though in your case, it appears your rears are inline with the stock diameter (in the rear).
Handling, with a well-thought out, relatively lightweight Plus 1 or in some cases even a Plus 2 would normally improve against the stock combination (less sidewall, quicker reflexes) but a lightweight 16-inch tire/wheel combo is usually the preferred choice for those who race or autoX.
