Default How much does a clutch installed cost?

I need a clutch for my 2000 S. The mechanic where I took it didn't even know the cost of the parts and he called for 30 minutes. (I need a new mech) I was wondering how much others payed for an OEM clutch installed. Thanks!

The labor should be about $550-600. + whatever you pay for your clutch.

your mech can't be expected to know the cost of s2000 parts from memory.

The job is listed as 8 hours. There are numerous shortcuts that can bring it down to 6 hours.

I've seen people pay between $1200 - $1500 at local Honda dealers. I think that's high considering the parts should cost around $600 so that means they are charging between $600 and $900 for 8 hours labor and misc shop fees.

I paid about grand. OEM parts and a Honda Specialist, not the dealer.

No way I would go to the dealer for this. I have an independent tranny shop that I will trust with my S2000 when the time comes. They rebuilt my Integra transmission and installed a new clutch for $1,300 total O.T.D. while other shops wanted $1,800 just to rebuild the tranny!

I guess it would be a good idea to see if you can find a shop that has done clutch jobs on an S2000 before...
