How much rain does it take to hydrolock?

i'm happy with it. i haven't dynoed it, because i'm not expecting much anyway. it eliminated heat soak, and sounds awesome (not too loud at all) at WOT. also, i hear a sucking/whistling sound from around 3-4k rpm at partial throttle, which is pretty sweet in everyday commute.
Cool, the V2 is probably the CAI I will get.

just be sure the cover the drain hole that drains onto most CAI filters in the s2k. Just do a search and you should know which hole I'm talking about. That seems to be the biggest issue in terms of hydrolocking. I had an Injen (same as v2) CAI and I was always worried whenever it rained so to ease my paranoia I switched to a K&N FipK

I see. I think I will have that same paranoia too. I'm sure you know about the rain here in Georgia, it can be great one day and hell the next. I'm still debating whether to get a AEM V2 or K&N FIPK. The gains, if any, are going to be similar, right?

I think I am going to be too paranoid even with a little of water, if I get a CAI.

I know lots of people have run CAIs and have had no problems. However, there are still people that have had issues with hydrolocking so even if the chance is < 0.05% I would rather not chance it. Gains between the two are the same (if intakes gave any gains at all).

Hmmm, I guess I will just go with the FIPK then.
