2k for install? wow, that's absurd. Get a new one a cherry picker lug it up and keep rolling. Don't get over whelmed, it's not that hard to do! Keep it.

How did the engine blow?

Depends on your location. In Sacramento a couple weeks ago an ap1 owner wanted to get rid of his 80k running motor and trans for 2.5k obo. Then it went to 1900obo for both. Sell the tyranny for 500-600 and you got yourself a mid 1k motor w install. There is no way an install can cost 2k unless you plan on dropping it off at a shop and have them do the uninstall and install.
