Got it for sticker with no trade ($32,740) in 2001, but some people are doing even better with the 2002.

i paid 32740 on the button as well....had to convince the dealer to sell it at that price, but it was not that hard....in retrospect, i could have probably done better, maybe some free stuff, but i really wanted the car right away, and i settled. Good luck

It does pay to shop around. One dealer was asking $35k for a used one, another dealer gave me a nice speech on how its good to pay over MSRP (he wanted $33k), and he wouldnt budge. Another straight out told me they would give it to me for MSRP (I havent attempted to negoicate). I havent been everywhere, but if i just stopped at one dealer, id probably get screwed.

I have noticed that trading in a Honda at a Honda dealer will give you more than another make. If its your previous dealer, they tend to be even nicer on the trade in.

Your goal is to not just get the car for a low price, but also get a high price for your trade-in. The dealer can give you want you want (great, almost invoice price on the s2k) and steal that SI right from under you. He's still making money. Dont let him trick you ...

Shopping around is the key, and being emotionally detached enough to get up and walk out during the negotiation never hurts!
I'm getting an '02 with Black Chrome, the Hardtop and Hardtop Installation for $34,885. This does not include tax, title and license fees.
In fact yesterday was the build date!
