I heard it's bad to drive with barely any gas in the tank....

i noticed yesterday how often I usually never have the gas above the halfway mark

anyone else the same???

 

My car goes from full bars to no bars every tank, for the most part.

 

i jus fill half tank eveytime, till 1 bar left

 

I like to keep track of my gas mileage.

 

I like to keep it low, less weight = more go!

Of course this is only when I am going to the track. Otherwise I just fill it up to the top, then drive it down to empty!

 

I usually fill up at 1/4 tank

 

I see the empty light as often as not. Rarely fill up less than 10 gallons.

 

I usuallly fill up at 1/4 of a tank. I never let it get lower than that.

 

I run it til the light comes on so I can keep track of my mileage. I dont think it's that bad to run it down as long as you aren't running out.

 

I think most cars these days use fuel in the tank to cool the fuel pump, so running to bone dry is bad for the pump. The fuel light usually comes on when 10-11 gallons are spent, meaning 2-3 gallons are left in the tank. The most fuel I've put in was just shy of 12 gallons, and its usually between 10-11, after the fuel light comes on.
