How often...

you realize you could just divide the number of miles into the number of gallons of gasoline that you put into the car, right? that's way more accurate than running it down to 1 bar and refilling and just assuming to divide the miles driven by ~13 or whatever.
ok, well you guys have fun with your fuzzy math. it's not like driving 3/4 of a tank and refilling is going to get you more accurate numbers than driving 7/8 of a tank and refilling. i honestly wouldn't care unless i dropped under 20mpg. otherwise, there's usually a reason why i average 22mpg vs. 28 (driving style)....
I figure if I add only 5 gallons I can save about 56 lbs.
1 gallon of water equals 8.33 lbs.
1 gallon of gasoline equals 5.8 to 6.5 lbs.
1 gallon of ethanol equals 6.59 lbs.

I run it until the last bar is gone then add exactly 5 gallons, not paying any attention to price. I usually go 115-130 miles before I repeat. My car seems to get better then advertised milage and that is with 85% city driving and a number of trips to VTEC. I was surprised so I did a few back to back full-fill-ups at the same station on the same pump for calculation. Same result, I get about 25MPG.
I usually fill up and calculate milage on road trips though. My last road trip to Dallas I got 28MPG and that was highway doing 80MPH with AC on in the middle of August. I have seen some posts of people complaining about milage but no complaints here. I average better then the sticker said I would and I drive heavy footed, that makes me happy.
Maybe it's the CAI and TP, both mods save a little weight... I remove the spare tire when in the city but leave the tools. The aluminum lugs probably don't save much weight but they look cool... Could be in good tune (20k).

I fill up 60 miles after the gas light turns on. The light flips on when i have 3 gallons left, so i figure if i estimate 20mpg from that point, I should be safe...i usually actually underestimate it and can get more than 60 miles past empty =)
I average 310 miles per tank
