How to pack wheels for shipping

I just hauled some home for some friends. They were wrapped with bubble wrap.

Cut out a circle of cardboard (go to any local mega store and ask for boxes, they will be glad to give you some).....that is bigger than the rim face, but smaller than the end of the tire......(1" before the tire ends)......secure the cardboard to the face of the rim....very tightly. You can place some bubble wrap in between the rim face and cardboard. Thats it. Just stick the shipping label on the tire.

Before anyone tries to flame me, thats how Tirerack ships their wheels.


12 wheels from tirerack and no problems with this packing method.

Bought a set of used OEM rims in past and the guy put them in boxes with foam peanuts.



They were all scratched against each other from shifting around.
