Default How to protect soft-top

Hi, I started to notice a tear on the rear-right side of my soft-top starting to tear. After reading on the topic, seems like this is caused by the bar scratching against the top. So I'm wondering what kind of padding can be used between the bar and the top to reduce the damage?

Thanks

Thick tape, like duct tap, electric tap for a simple fix would work

Thanks. Another thing is I saw there's a memo from Honda talking about how they admit it's a defect. So can we get a replacement for free?

I think its up to the dealers discretion after the warranty has expired, some have had it completely covered while others had a pay a little.

Don't use duct tape. Once the tape heats up in the sun it gets goopy and bunches. It ends up increasing the friction and making the hole bigger.

Thats what I did. I glued a 2ply piece of denim (black) onto the wear areas of the top, and it's been fine ever since.

Get some black 1" Velcro and use the loop or fuzzy side only. Put the top down about a third of the way to get some slack in it and stick it on the bows where the top is showing the wear. Cut to fit, of course.
Works great. Stays put. And you don't see it because it's black...

electric tape should do the trick. Or if you wanna do it the "right" way you can get another sheath...my '07 has one.
