How to protect soft-top

from a cycle shop you can get a product called "lizard skin", basically it acts as a chain guard. It attaches with velcro not unlike those seat belt shoulder things. I cut mine in half and covered both elbows on the soft top frame left and right.

If this tear is the one described in Honda TSB 09-033, why not also fix the problem itself? Smooth the rough/sharp/burred ends of the bars that cause the problem. Sure worked well for me. Someone here can probably direct you to a copy of the TSB.

It's all over the forum, including instructions on how to fix it yourself if you're out of warranty and the dealer won't help.

I use some thing green felt (kinda like what's on a pool table) that has adhesive on one side. Figure anything is better than metal rubbing against the top.

I use black rubber garage door bottom seal between the bars and soft top. The bar pushes the seal against the soft top and keeps them in place yet the rubber seal is soft enough to bend when I put the top down. It's been like that for more than two years and I have only had to adjust it a few times.
