Not terribly loud. It's not at all annoying on the highway. If you drive at speed (>90kmh..) for more than about half an hour, put the windows up or your eyeballs will dry out.

S2K is really noisy (not loud)

There is a lot of wind and road noise. Also, the fact that you are sitting so close to the rear wheels also makes things worse.

It's not that i'm looking for a quiet comfortable car. I was just wondering if the noise was bearable if i was driving for a while at highway speeds. I dont mind the noise driving on the local roads. But was curious if i took the car onto the highway. Would it require ear plugs?

or is it fatiguing mentally to drive becuase of the noise level on the highway? Like if i were to take a longer trip, would you be more tired in the S than you would another car?

I do a lot of freeway driving but yeah....you'd get a little more tired in the S than say a Lexus or Benz. Its more noisier, you sit much lower in the car, there is less room, and the suspension is stiffer.

WHAT??

If that is a big concern, consider a factory hardtop mandatory.

Don't forget about tire noise. With the top down, they make quite a bit of noise, especially on rough blacktop.

Top down, yes, long highway trips get tiring. Top up, it's not so bad, you mostly hear the engine if your latches are properly set up and your seals are good.
