How quiet is the S2000?

I do a lot of freeway driving but yeah....you'd get a little more tired in the S than say a Lexus or Benz. Its more noisier, you sit much lower in the car, there is less room, and the suspension is stiffer.
Well if you don't have an answer by now, you won't ever. But, top up or down?
Top up, the car isn't bad at all, you can talk on a cell phone (with pauses for each shift ofcourse) but speaker phone would be tough. Its not quiet like a luxury car, but it's very liveable.
Top Down, is a different matter, but you'd get this in any convertable. At highway speeds, during rush hour, it's concert loud. Not metalica loud, more like radiohead loud, so ear plugs are helpful if you're sensitive. I usually wear IEM earphones with an audiobook or somthing similar each morning. Long trip highway driving is better, and cruising back roads, like route 129 is very pleasant.
Now some people are actually silly enough to put aftermarket exhausts on their car to make it even louder. If you're one of these people, then the S2000 can get plenty loud, but with a stock exhaust, no worries.

The stock duals are heavy, but they're quiet, and that means you can drive harder while attracting less attention. Loud exhaust makes you sound faster, but a quiet exhaust lets you go faster, more often.

That and I have the stock radio, which is hard enough to hear with the standard exhaust.
And when I'm on the country roads this spring I don't want to give the squirls any warning. (kidding really).
Looking at these recent posts, I realize there are maybe TWO questions here. First, is the S 2000 a quiet car for one driving it down a freeway. Answer is not really. Second, is the S 2000 a quiet car for those outside but near the car when it is going by. Answer is with stock exhaust, its a pretty quiet car.
