Default How To - Replace Dome Light

Hey guys, my dome light recently has burnt out and I want to replace it but it I cannot get it for the life of me. I have taken off all the A-Pillars and a couple clips of the top piece, but cannot get the middle to release, it just seems to have bent and droop now Any help would be appreciated..

K got it guys! lol I didnt see that there were 2 little indents in the clear plastic piece where you can stick a flat headed screwdriver and pop it right off. to my surprise both lights were fine, and the dome light just uses both reading lights at the same time. The problem was actually in the switch. it was corroded and i think possible one of the metal connectors was off track. So i cleaned it up put all the little pieces and springs together and its good as new. Put everything back together and found out i actually didnt break anything which was great.

Can you take a pic of the part that you used a flat head to pluck it off? I tried and scratched up my middle section A pillar.

Yeah once i get a chance/camera ill take apic for you, but in the meanwhile, its right on the back (closest to the windshield) on the clear piece. There are 2 little ridges you can put a flatheaded screwdriver in and pry it out. If that helps let me know! lol

omg. I've been fiddling with my flat tip on the wrong side! I have scratches all over the plastic. I need JPM to help me cover it with leather!

Now that the dome light is done, anyone have pics of how to remove the license plate light? Also, after I installed Rick's clear sidemarkers, I got clear lights for it. I tried taking it off, but boy is it snug in there. Anyone else have similar problems removing it?
