It's a completely valid question, get off your high horse.

I don't want a beep, i know if my keys are in the car, i know if the door is open, i don't have to be reminded like a child by my car! I also don't want to have to shut the door.

What is supposed to happen if a friend is getting in the car and it takes them 30 seconds+ to get in for whatever reason? I don't want to have to shut the car off or be rude to my mate and tell him to hurry up.

Turn the key to the ON position if you want the radio on, door open, and no beep. It just beeps a few times then stops.

Exactly. I also recommend turning off the A/C fan or anything else that might turn on in the "ON" position in case it draws from the battery.

Any concern with the fuel pump running? I know that kicks on in the "ON" position.

No...it just primes the engine. I believe it shuts off after it senses an absence of oil pressure. Otherwise it would make a bad accident very interesting.

Tape the switch so that it thinks the door is closed.

Hmm, since the Introductions forum has the description "You will get a warm welcome, friendly and helpful advice" I think the S2000 Talk forum description needs to be changed to "Prepare for arrogant, ignorant and useless responses to all your questions."

take the plastic wheel boss surround off. on the key barrell there should be a little black switch that is screwed down with a small philips screw. i think it earth and causes a beep when the key is in. disconnect that and presto!
