Post How to turn off "Maintenance Required" light?

Hi there, my S2 is due for her 45,000 mile checkup at Honda, which I can easily do myself, so I was wondering if anyone knows how to disable/turn off the Maint Req'd light on the dash.

Thanks in advance!

Tip:

1. Type in "maintenance required light" into the search bar.
2. Press ENTER.

Don't forget to look for the "secret compartment."

The easiest thing to do would be RTFM!

yup, this is documented in your owner's manual. If you don't have one of those you should probably get one.

Key off, then hold the trip button on the gauge cluster, turn key on (so gauge cluster lights up) and continue to hold the trip button for around 10 secs. Release button when light goes off. Same process is used when the maint req light is both flashing and on solid.

Yea, 2 years is long time not ever to look @ the FAQs or see it come up. I think searching is easier than posting a thread and waiting for someone to reply. Maybe I'm crazy.
