How to u know Clutch need to be change??
Okay...I am having sorta the same problem...
The clutch feels soft and I feel I vibration from it too...only at high rpms mainly above 5500 rpm when shifting gears.
My car has 33K on it and I have only done one high rpm launch about 1.5 years go...so IMHO it hasn't been abused.
The feeling I am getting in first, mainly in the morning, have a side slipping feel when I take off from a red light...and the car feel like it is bogging down. With the side slipping makes me think its the tires but the high RPM's makes me think its the clutch...but there isn't any smell, so I am not sure what it is...any help would be grateful.
Also what should a replacement clutch cost??
Thanks...
Paul

Ok. Here's another spin on this thread.
So what does it mean when you have intermittent problems shifting out of gears? Like when you go to pull the shifter out of gear it acts like it's being held in gear. And sometimes when going into gear it really "snicks" (hope that makes sense). I've been getting these problems on one of my hondas, too. It's definitely driveable, but needs babying as well. Already had the clutch and master cylinder replaced. It's on a 3rd gen prelude (1991). Don't mean to change topics, but since we're on the topic, I though why not ask. Any ideas?

you'll definitely know if your smoking your clutch. My friend in his civic just dropped the clutch but his tires sure weren't spinning. He knew what had happened and got out of the car and rolled up the windows. And waited a few minutes before he got close to it.
that is an example of a bad clutch.
