All cars accelerate at more or less the same rate (if you drive them off a cliff)

If you are basing your buying decision (which is now AFTER the fact ) on you being "thrown back in your seat", you will be immensely disappointed. I think you should go buy some knee pads, go to the sales manager where you've ordered the car, put the pads on, kneel down in front of him and do your best to get your deposit back and kill the deal. OH, take a bottle of whiskey with you to kill the taste afterwards.

BTW, this is a pretty dumb criteria for buying a car. I suggest you apply to NASA. I hear they've got a few surplus rocket sleds up for sale.

(Please go ahead and send the flames in. I'm not even going to come back at ya this time.)

Plenty of cheap C5's for sale if you want that torque feel. The s2k has a different sensation than raw power, reminds me of a 600cc sportbike, it can be fun to have to wait for the excitement.

Good one...the only reason you should care about that kind of acceleration is if you are in a tight spot and need to get out. I had one such sitch when I made the (very big) mistake of crossing a highway without looking sufficiently to the right. When I heard a horn blowing, I glanced that way and a big truck pulling a horse trailer was bearing down on me. Good reflexes and acceleration definitely saved my life (and my +1's) that day. So I'd say you have enough with this car.

This will also prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that every car has SUPERB braking capabilities. 100 to 0 in nothing flat.

#1 - You have to get used to not wearing a seatbelt.
#2 - Take a driving position with your back not supported by the seat.
#3 - Get uesed to driving with a pillow on the steering wheel.
#4 - Use the brake quite firmly in 1st gear at 8300 rpm.
#5 - Hit the throttle again at 6000 rpm.
#6 - You will be pushed back in your seat!

WooHoo!

Do not do this on a public road.
Wait until after break-in period.
