You will not get thrown back in your seat due to the low torque output of the engine. However, while it may not feel like you're accelerating quickly due to that lack of torque, it's still pulling very hard. The AP2's VTEC "kick" is less pronounced than an AP1, but it's still a surge and sounds like music to your ears I think you should have driven the car a bit more before deciding to purchase it. That being said, the car is quick, just don't expect to put the pedal down at 4K and get thrown back in your seat

Coming from a modified C6 my 06' s2000 feels slow from a drag race point of view but a lot more nimble in the twisties which is what it does best.

As the driver in a car, you would be the person less likely to feel any kind of "push into your seat" feeling. You are driving the car and (whether you know it or not) your body prepares itself when you are about to floor it.

When my dad drives my s2k, and I'm sitting in the passenger seat, I can feel the push pretty well since I am not expecting it to happen.

The S feels much stronger than any Civic I've been in (including plenty of B-series and H-series swaps).

All cars accelerate at more or less the same rate (if you drive them off a cliff)
Gm=9.8m/s^2

but if you move above the surface of the earth one r(of the earth's radius), your weight will be 1/4 as much, meaning 2800/4= 700lb, that's light

I agree that you felt the car is faster if your not driving it. You won't feel as fast as a 350z but it is as fast as the 350z. The s2000 is the only car that really let me feel the vtec kick in, after that, is a h22 prelude that my friend had.
