Not to mention that with any elm327 Bluetooth OBD2 device one can use a phone for a guage display as well...

how about a ram suction cup mount? no worries with marring your trim or possibly snapping something with the install.

Here's the same mount with an old iPhone 4, since updated to the 6 mount and lightning cable:

Do you have an aftermarket head unit?

I use the magnetic vent clip on. Holds pretty tight both vertical and horizontal. It's only like $7 or so on Amazon.

I keep it in the passenger side transmission tunnel pocket and don't look at it while driving....

Congrats, here's your cookie. It's my music source and GPS.
A little too salty. I too play music and use GPS. We have the dash controls for music, and I turn on voice directions if I need it. There's not a lot of justification for driving distracted.

Awesome. I have an alpine CDE-143BT. Did you have to modify your bezel?

I am looking at Modifry's dash bracket, but I am interested in seeing what everyone else is doing...

Turn off your phone, put it in the secret compartment and drive!

Yeah...that's good advice, and is in the right spirit...

Unfortunately, for us directionally challenged, I need a place to mount my phone in as safe a place as possible for Waze...and I also use my phone for 100% of my music needs. I know that phones are a distraction, but both music and gps are distractions that are on the dashboard of most cars, even if you put the phone away. The trick is to not get tempted by the "dark side" and start doing other things that put your life (and the lives of others) in danger...

I definitely find that the Modifry mount keeps my phone mounted nice and high, which allows me to always have at the very least, peripheral vision on the road at all times, even when glancing at the phone...

Wow this looks pretty clean. Does the phone move on the magnet during hard corners, or has the phone ever fell off?
