Very clean looking...and I like the phone positioning...

What I don't like is using double stick adhesive on my dash, which is why I ended up with the Modifry, which can be installed and uninstalled without risking damage or discoloration of the interior...

I also don't love a magnet semi-permanently on the back of any of my electronics... I know it might be paranoia, but in general, electronics are not happy with water, static, or magnets... It may not have any short term impacts, but what about the long term impacts?

I have a Note 5, and I know that the stylus doesn't work when using a case that has a magnetic clasp (under certain cases).

But that said, I love the clean look of this, both when the phone is on the mount...and when the phone is off the mount... Very nice solution!

Like Garhead, I also have discovered the Steelie Car Mount and have mounted the base on the face of the dash above the consol/radio stack where it is in direct eyesight. A very "elegant" (in accordance with the KISS principal of Industrial Engineering Design) piece of engineering, though I shall have to be more careful about how I carry my phone around to avoid demagnetizing my CC's! (never thought about that). Attached are some photos of the install including my wireless Solo 3 radar. The clutter is minimized.[attachment=95625:IMG_8557.JPG][attachment=95626:IMG_8560.JPG][attachment=95627:IMG_8563.JPG][attachment=95628:IMG_8564.JPG]
Wow this looks pretty clean. Does the phone move on the magnet during hard corners, or has the phone ever fell off?
This is a good question... I bought an iMagnet mount and attached it to my Modifry bracket, and the solution was terrible... My hand was always accidentally brushing up against the phone when I went to reach for things around the cabin and the dashboard... And the magnet was not strong enough, so the phone would go flying underneath my feet or into the passenger seat or floor. Again, I am talking about the iMagnet, not this solution here...

It didn't help that I like to have my phone on a charging cord when I am in the car...sometimes I wouldn't just brush the phone with my hand...sometimes it would be the cord, which was very easy since the cord draped down near the shifter knob...

I can assure everyone that the magnet is VERY strong & won't fall off anything or at any time. The ball of the receiver mount allows for 360 degree rotation. Your phone will pick up forks, spoons & foreign coins from your pockets. LOL

I'm going to second the Arkon seat bolt phone mount. I've used it at the track for DEs and they are super stable and keep the phone in place.

It does not appear to (there is a silicone centre to the magnet on the phone that goes a long way to keeping things from moving around unless YOU move it) but I will have a better idea after the S2KDays 2016 get together in Durango CO this summer. I will report the results.

I've been looking around at the various solutions for mounting an iPhone. I think I may try to just rig a small piece of foam to brace the phone in horizontal position sitting on top of the open radio door and leaning back against the face of the radio. I only need it displayed like that when I am using gps and so I'm not sure I want to mount a bracket affair like those shown here and like I have in my other vehicles. Seems like a small simple rig makes more sense in this little car. I am installing a blue tooth head unit next week with the Modifry DCI mentioned above so for the most part my iPhone will live in my pocket.

Screwed the ball mount post from a motorcycle handlebar base straight into the the rim of the gauge bezel and mounted an Arkon holder to it. The phone is switched for an OBD2 gauge display when on track and that is shown. In the picture, it looks closer to the wheel than it really is. I've got a few hundred laps on the track with it and it's never caused a problem.

How has this held up? I have used this mount in other cars, and in Texas heat the adhesive did not stay with it mounted to a vertical surface like that. I am also concerned about the residue from the adhesive possibly ruining the dash?

If you care about your car's dash, I would stay away from any glue-on or suction type mount on the dash. I have permanently ruined my GTI's dash with a suction type mount (stupid, I know). My advise is don't risk it.
