Default How to you put on black plastic front grill

I have 2002 AP1 with an AP2 front bumper. The black plastic front grill has popped out. How do you put this back in tightly. I see on the top and bottom of this plastic grill are 4 little plastic extensions. They don't seem very strong. I don't see any clasps to hold the grill in place.

I even went to the parts dept and when you order a new grill, there are no clasps.

What kind of clasps do you need to get the grill to fit tightly.

Do I need to remove the front bumper to put the grill on (I don't want to do this).

Thanks.

It's a lousy picture, but maybe you can figure out your answer from this.

You might actually have a broken tab. What part of the grill is sticking out?

The front grill is attached by using "speed nuts". It's the set of 3.5mm speed nuts in the diagram above which is item #033.

I have personally replaced the grill on many bumpers. I advise that you purchase new ones because they are cheap as hell and it's not worth re-using the old ones.

Additionally, be careful when removing the old ones because if you break the plastic prong that the speed nut attaches to, your grill will not be fully secured to the bumper. The plastic prongs are part of the actual bumper and once broken...you will have to find alternative methods of securing the grill.

The grill has holes in it where the plastic prongs fit through and the speed nut is attached. The grill is also slotted on each side where the bumper fit's inbetween and clips itself together on the sides.

You can do this without taking off the bumper.

When I did my conversion, I took off all the littel metal clips (speed nuts as SII calls them) from the old bumper grill so I could use them on the new one.
