Default Replacing the plastic front grille.

I'm thinking about replacing the black plastic grille in the front bumper with mesh grille. Is it easy to take the plastic grille off? Or is it permanently attached to the bumper, hence needs to be cut off? If you've had experience on this, please reply. Thanks!

I believe it would involve cutting, however, you can get the same look with a custom grill that covers up the hole. There are two sponsors on this site that make them.

Coastal Metals

Grille-Tech

I have the Coastal Metals grilles and like them.

Is there a grill that will go behind the stock plastic grill? Is it possible to mount the Coastal Metals grill behind the stock one? The reason I asking it because I want to keep the stock look, but want to protect the radiator too.

PAS2KNut, your car looks good and I might do the same. Do you have anymore pictures of the grill close up and from different angles?

When it comes to tools I am about the biggest klutz around. I installed the Coastal grille in less than 30 min. All that is required is to just attach two brackets, in existing screw holes, to the existing plastic grill. This past weekend I converted the plastic faux air intakes to the real ones that Coastal sells. Just as easy but cutting out the plastic with a Dremol tool was messy.

If you just want it behind the grill to protect the rad and A/C cannister, consider this:

A few bucks and bit of your time.

Thanks for the info! Your grille looks too much like stock. BUt oohh! I like the Grille-Tech and it's only $54. I may get that, but I have to think about cutting the stock plastic one. Thanks!

Oh wait! Does the Grille-Tech just go in front of the stock plastic one? Hence no cutting of the plastic is necessary.
