Huge Mistake...
"That's what we do in India, but here not many people do that. But they thought they were in a farm (area) so they can do that thing because (there are) not that many cars on the road."

Being tired can have the same effect on your driving as being drunk. The government here likes to advise people to take a break from driving every 2 hours.
And I'm guessing that "my boy" means "mah boyeeee" rather than "my son."
I could be wrong, though.
Been in that situation and stretching, AC, radio can help. But if you're too over-tired, you'll still be nodding off. 15 minute nap if you can do it in a safe place (remember what happened to Michael Jordan's dad).
Not necessarily recommending this, but I find that in desperate times... keeping yourself mentally engaged in a telephone conversation or listening to an audiobook can keep enough of your brain awake to prevent nodding off. This is obviously not recommended for traffic. I have known people who have watched TV shows on video IPODs to keep awake. Once again, not necessarily recommending this (I hate cell phone drivers)... but for desperate situations only, better than driving off the road.
I had to catch myself a few years ago nodding off on my way home from being out so late into the early morning hours. I would wake up damn near taking out a neighbors mailbox 500ft from my house! I certainly dont do those late night stunts anymore. Getting older keeps you out of trouble lol
Having driven many many long trips and kinda "knowing from experience", I'm one of the guys who pulls over every hour or two just to get out, stretch, do a few jumping jacks or go for a short run (seriously - it helps) and then resume driving. If I'm feeling tired again in the next few minutes, I'll pull over, set an alarm to wake me up in 20 mins and have a quick nap.
Ive actually done a 20 hr straight drive from Texas to Florida... one of the most tiring times in my life lol. I am actually really good at driving long road trips.. but just sometimes after work I would get really really tired and would hve to slap myself literally a few times to wake myself up.
last year coming home from wisconsin i fell asleep and woke up with a few feet of my bumper/hood UNDER the rear of a semis trailer. I slept for an hour the next exit. from then on its phone calls or pull over. not worth hurting anyone over
glad you are ok..
happen to me once too and was on a 4 lane highway headed for a cliff when i woke up and quickly yank the wheel throws the right direction.. scared the shit out of me
friend feel asleep at the wheel and this was what happen.. hit a small wall maybe 4 feet high and flipped the car and slid for 20-30 yards and hit something else and landed back on the wheels.. happen on Thursday or Friday i forgot.. when i went to see him at the hospital he was outside smoking with some minor cuts on his fingers

front air bags didnt go off but side airbags did and smacked his head
