Default Hybrid exhaust system

Inspired by the Ferrari 458 racing at the WEC in Le Mans 2015 I decided to design and install a hybrid exhaust system for my s2k (running 14psi on a rotrex compressor). The goal was to have an exhaust that is bearable during normal driving and LOUD when at the track. The pics are from the initial installation. The OEM tips have also been installed.

Interesting setup and clean installation. What controls the exhaust dump (manual or automated)? Any difference in power either way?

Modern day Lakepipes!

Nicely done. I've contemplated something similar that would he auto activated when vtec is engaged. Except it wouldn't be to a second, uncorked pipe. It would just be single exhaust or dual, for more backpressure at low rpm, to aid making torque, and less for high rpm to make more hp.

Also though of using a pair of dump valves as a cockpit tunable uk mod, where you can dial in desired volume. Would require a stepper motor controlled dump. Though of using a cruise control motor (that controls throttle position), since its heat and vibration resistant, and can find at junkyard.

The craftsmanship looks great. Who did the work?

How come you chose to run the tip slant upside down?

I wouldn't mind hearing the quiet mode.

I have an ECU that controls a small valve. This valve controls the vacuum from the engine to open close the flap. You may connect it to CAN bus, or rpm input etc, or the remote (which i currently have and prefer). It is a kit.

The "low noise" mode can be heard here.

Didn't quite understand what you mean about the slant (I'm Greek!). The tips have not been installed in that pic (obviously).

The power increase is such that you can feel it. The A/F ratio is also quite different. I have tuned the car with the flap open and when driving with the flap closed it is a bit rich.

The work has been done by a local exhaust shop.

The slant. Sometimes exhaust tips are made with a flat cut, sometimes they are made with an angle cut, which is sometimes called a slash cut, or slant.

When such an angle cut tip is used, its always installed so that the top sticks out farther than the bottom. In your photos it looks like the slant is upside down, so the bottom part sticks out farther.
