Default i am paranoid about the s2k

im soo paranoid for when i get my s2k in the future,
a friend of mine was talkin about some of his friends w/ s2k's both crashed them,
and said i prolly will 2, plus look wat happened to dean from ohio, he totaled his car. i dont have a lisense or permit, i am one year away from that , and i am gonna wait a while after i get my lisense to get the s2k to gain experience and then get it, i have $ saved for a downpayment and some monthly, but now am worried about driving and totalling it i know it is more than a year away but still, ive been drooling over this car for 2 years now and am very intrested in hopefully owning one in the near future, now i had an eyeopener and realized that i need to drive very saftely, but what would you guys say? and no flaming please, i know most of you are gonna say u r too young to own one when i plan on getting one, as i realize that it is young to own a machine like the s2k but hey, what r u gonna do? and i do realize it is just a car as some might say that why r u worrying , it is just a car.

I say, get a manual civic and practice with that for awhile. After a year or so then buy a S2k cause to be honest, most young drivers get into an accident becuae they are inexperienced. I wouldn't want my kids first car to be a S2k. A civic is a great car to learn in. Also the Insurance will be crazy for a young driver in a S2k, but you sound like you have some money in your family.

well, if you already know that you'll be to young to own one, and you're scared of totalling it....that would be your first indication that you shouldn't buy one.

Second, you didn't even mention insurance. Do you have any idea how much a 16 yr old male would pay on an s2000?

Third, will you be able to afford to maintain it? Gas? Oil Changes? Other maintanence?

They're priced 30,000 bucks for a reason, so that kids can't get their hands on them, unless their parents buy it for em...

im 22 and have no business owning an S, You don't either. Its not practical and insurance will rape you/your parents. Go get a civic. Go!

(RWD + 240 hp)x young driver = Uh Oh

Cannonbear,

I second that motion.....RWD lets the 240 get away from you if you are not careful. The S is a challenge to drive (safely). There are so many blind spots!!!!!!!!

YOD88,

If you do not feel comfortable with the thought of owning an S, you're probably not ready to do so! I admire you for recognizing the fact that owning the car may be more than you can handle.

Listen to that little voice in your head called 'better judgement'.
