I'm 22 and wrecked mine when I spun out doing a U-turn. I couldn't imagine having the S when I was 16. Wait a little and maybe buy a used one when you get outta high school. This may not be any of my business but how the f*** can you afford an S at 16? My car payment is 500, insurance is 250 and gas is at least 120/month. Thats 870 just in car expense, not to mention any repairs or maintenance. Please wait to get it at least untill you can learn to respect it, otherwise you may not live to see 17. Good luck in whatever you decide!!!

I don't think I know anyone who didn't get in an accident of some kind with the first car they owned. Your friends are right, it will probably happen to you.

Do you want the accident to happen in a $5,000 used Civic, or a $33,000 S2000? Also please remember that because it's an S2000, you'll probably be going faster when the accident happens, and the damage and injuries will be worse.

Wait to buy a performance car until after you've learned how to drive safely, and then wait 5 more years. You're only 15, and you should be looking forward to how you're going to spend your remaining 70 years on this planet, not your remaining 2 years.

Have a nice day!

I'm 21 and just got my spa yellow S2000. I had 350z before and traded it in for s2k. From my short experience, S2000 indeed is dangerous than other cars, certainly than Z. I just make sure that I solely concentrate on driving, especially in this car.

16 + S2k = accident -- then again 16 plus just about any car = accident.

Personally I don't think 16 year old children should be allowed to drive alone.

Personally I think you should work on your grammer before you try driving a sports car.

The only reason I let myself have one is because after A: "Ace-ing" all driving tests. and B: The fact that I worked hard enough to earn the car anyway. C: Not had an accident ever.

As I was saying: Learn to talk correctly, make sure your doing well in other areas before you take your life in your hands.

I agree with everybody else, don't get the car. Wait until you have experience. I am 23 years old and just bought my 00 a couple months ago. I have owned a couple engine swapped civics that were not super fast but not bad for what they were, and even being able to drive them fairly well, when I got my S its a whole different experience. I use to race my civic a fairly decent amount at the track and I still don't feel comfortable enough in the S to race yet. IMO no 16 year old should own anything like an S either, just too dangerous without driving experience to jump in a car like that, panic, then wreck it. Maybe you could take a driving course or something to help out, I even would like to go to a good driving school to learn better skills.
I only have a 306 a month payment but mine was used and I put a huge down payment on it, but I still spend a lot for gas and insurance isn't so bad on me, I can't imagine a 16 year old though, yikes.

Ted.

Give the kid a break! Your grammar is almost as poor!

[Read that second sentence slowly.]

If you're paranoid to the point you are posting on a forum because you are scared, then don't get the car.
