Default I Can't find affordable insurance!

I am 21 with 3 NCB and plan on purchasing a S2k next month so I wanted to estimate how much insurance would be but on 2004 models with about 50k on the clock. My quotes are ridiculous! Adrian Flux couldn't give me a quote, Admiral wanted £4700! And on the comparison sites I can't get below £3000!I knew it would be expensive but I didn't think I wouldn't be able to find insurance.

What city are you in? Post in local perhaps? Too many variables here...

Wow, that's crazy. It's very cheap here, wonder why it's so expensive over there.

My agent did tell me that in central CT (east coast state, USA), it was a lot more expensive a few years ago but it's not nearly as high theft as it used to be, so the rates went down.

Hm considering your prices aren't in $/USD I would think you'll have better luck posting in the international section of the forum.

Geico wanted $700 for every 6 months. I ended up going with Hagerty.

Sorry to say mate, but your age is going to be a big strike against you.
you will probably have to ask people on the UK site as this is the US forum as someone else mentioned.
here you could waive car replacement if you didn't pay that much for it but liability is huge part of the premium for someone who is young, male, and trying to insure a sports car
if there is collector's insurance in the UK maybe you can try that, but if it is like the USA you have to have a daily driver insured in your name first.

Im 23 with a perfect driving record and I pay $429 a year with Commerce full coverage. I have another car insured under my name so that definitely helps and I live in Massachusetts so the car can only be driven part of the year. 4700 is insane

"Affordable" is an opinion. To them, 4700 is what makes your risk profile "affordable".

Second vote for Hagerty. Quoted less than 1/2 of what Geico wanted for 6 months.... For a full year of coverage.
