I feel ill...
The first time my baby has been away over night at the dealership(!). I am getting the new seatbelts (recall).
I called my dealership a day or two after i got the recall notice and they told me they had one set of the new ones. Something tells me that i am the guinea pig in this scenario...it is suppose to take two hours, but the notice says give the dealership the whole day. I also mentioned the "rattling like a box of marbles" noise - they are going to take a test drive (hopefully not a joy ride) and see what it might be - they also asked for me to come in the morning and go for a ride with a technician if they can't duplicate the sound. I told them I new of the TSB on the tranny and heard people complain about the heat shield rattling...
anyway, i feel sick - quick, someone make me feel better!!!!!!

It should be OK. Just make sure they keep it inside overnight. Had my seat belt recall done last week when I took it in for an oil change. Dropped it off in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon. It does take a while to do.
Got mine done months ago. Way before the recall because of the same reason its being recalled!(passenger side though!) Wierd!?
They tore that car appart the book says less than an hr to do it....dealers time 2 days! Along with a scratched panel that they had to order and replace. Dont worry just make sure you look over the car for at least 10-15 min before you drive off!
What comes out? Seat/center consoul/golve box/roll bar/panels behind and next to seat/ door sill plate/ rear deck area has to be detached(back panel is where they scratched getting the plugs out.
Oh yea good luck....feel any better or are you reaching for the trash can to yack in?

You need to definitely make sure they store your car inside. I remember earlier in the year when someone on this board left their car at their dealer overnight and it was left outside. The wheels and tires were stolen and at first the dealer refused to take responsibility. I don't remember how it turned out, but it wasn't pretty, so beware and take care.
I just took mine in yesterday for the seat belt recall and the 1-2 tranny fix. I requested that only the designated tech work and drive the car and that they keep it inside overnight.
They said it will not be a problem keeping it inside since the car will be in pieces(many) and 'undriveable' for the time being.....so, it was a moot point(for the better!).
They said I should get the car back later today/early tomorrow. They've had light work load and they ordered the parts ahead of time.

Apparently they have fixed the belts...they have asked for me to come in and drive with a tech so I can point out the "rattling box of marbles" sound from the transmission. Wonder if I am just imagining the sound...thanks for the reply everybody (except Pinky!). I will check if they man-handled her...
I really think they should put in baby monitors in the garage - so owners could check on the progress over the internet....to big brother?
Anyway
