The whistling noise is definitely coming from the aem cai. The main issue now is that creaking noise. Today the noise sounded worse. The car is just rolling and its a constant "creak" "creak" nonstop. Im starting to get very annoyed. I think imma take it out to the honda dealership near my house to have them check out the shocks. It might be the springs tho. What do you guys think? Anyone had a similar problem?

38k miles is enough to destroy an S2000.
Not "very new."
Full inspection, not really that useful.
Compression / leakdown test probably cheaper and more useful.
If you had cash and really cared, you could pull the head and check out the valves and cylinders.
Whistling probably fine.
Accelerate from standstill and "creak" can be a loose axle nut.
Torque to 220 instead of 180.
Other creaks can be from wheel bearings or shocks.
you seem to know alot about noises...i have a click noise coming from the rear, any clue? it seems to happen after i shift coming out of a turn & sometimes when im just going straight

sounds like we have similar problems. Does it also make the noise when your car is just rolling on neutral? Mine makes the noise whether i roll at 30mph or 5mph. its very annoying. Imma have honda check it out and i'll let u know man

Seems like both of you guys are having problems with you your rear hub. This problem is usually caused by the axle nut not being torqued enough like it was stated above. Honda used to tq the axle nuts to 180. Then a lot of people started having problems with this noise and the rear hub going bad because it was slightly moving back and forth which was causing the rotor on the brake to wear unevenly.

I had the same problem. I would drive my S and after it warmed up nice and good everytime I would shift to neutral and let it coast I would hear this creak sound and it got louder and louder and became very annoying. When I did some searching and figured out what it was it was to late for my brake rotor. I could run my fingers over it and tell that it had warpped. I think it happened to fast cuz I do a lot of highway driving. But just retorque both axle nuts and that should take care of the noise. If it's a clicking you hear try swapping the left and right inner cv joints and that should fix that. If you search there's plenty of threads with directions on how to do it. Hope this helped

BTW another whistling noise that you sometimes hear during acceleration art the gears in the rear diff whining. It happens though.
thanks man that was a big help. At least now i know where to start and what to look for.

I was at the honda dealership about 15 mins ago and the tech there said that it is definitely the WHEEL BEARING going bad. He said that it wouldnt affect anything but will need to be replaced sooner or later. The price quote he gave me was roughly $300 to replace the bearings. This is a bit expensive but then again we drive an s2k so theres really no way around it.

As for autox, i recommend that u check and see if its your wheel bearing and if it is then u might want to replace em before autox-ing. The tech told me to replace it if i drive hard like say drifting but since my s2k is a daily driver, i dont have to worry so much. good luck man
