I got mine!!!
Well, it was a long road - but I now have an S2000! I managed to sell my 'vette (coming off of lease) last month. I looked at lots of Z3s and lots of S2000s and finally found an S2000 I liked at a great price.
I first joined S2KI September of 2001. My wife and I were in G'burg for her birthday and I saw lots of S2000s. So I hunted around and found S2KI and saw that everyone was at the "fall colors" event. I kept reading messages here and adding to my S2K knowledge - the key for me was finding out you can now get a car (new or used) for a nice price - I love good deals.
I found the car via eBay, here is the link to the listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=1872324389
I made the deal almost a month ago, but the seller travels a lot (but not in the S2000). So by the time we got the contracts done and signed, had the car inspected, and got it transported down here it took almost 4 weeks.
The car is a red 2001 with real low miles (1700). It has the OEM front spoiler, OEM CD changer, OEM alarm system, OEM hood switch, and OEM wheel locks. It is "like new" - no wrecks, repaint, etc - all the VIN stickers are in place on all the body panels. IT STILL SMELLS NEW INSIDE! I am very pleased with the car and REALLY pleased with the price
No real problems, but the car got FILTHY being transported down from CT - I was cheap and paid for a non-enclosed haul First time it has been a problem, but that stuff does wash off.
The next problem was the right rear went flat. I put the space saver on (to hold the car up) in my driveway and took the tire to get patched. Once that was done, I could test drive the car - no problems. The car is fun to drive - light and tossible like my '96 M Miata, but a lot more power. So far no complaints - I wish 6th was taller for cruising, but as is I could pass a semi from 70 without a downshift. Got about 20mpg road testing, but there was a lot of idle time in there.
Here are links to some of the pix the car inspector took and sent down, I have not gotten around to taking any myself.

I need to get used to the start button, been starting with the key for MANY years and it is a surprise when nothing happens
Need to find a good deal on a VooDoo knob and some other "stuff"
I am sure I will have more questions as I go. But if anyone needs to know how to operate the supplied jack and to get out the spare and replace it, let me know - been there, done that.

I washed and cleaned the car this weekend.
I found an OEM seat back pocket behind the driver's seat! It was like I found a $50 bill in my "new" car
As noted in other threads. I need a new horn, better speakers (at least), and some headrests.
The car is a hoot to drive.
My wife and I drove around some Saturday, she thinks the cabin is cramped and seats not as comfy as the 'vette seats. She is right, but I didn't pay $50k for the S2000 either....
