I love my car...I hate the way people act because of it. I just can't drive the thing in a crowded place at night. The city is pretty much off limits. In one night someone hit the back of my car( luckly did no damage), about 6 people tried to race me on crowded city streets, and a group of turds in an explorer tried to steal it...wtf?

I will be keeping the car, though this has changed my opinion on people! This car gets much more negative attention then I ever could have imagined. I didn't buy this car to act like a pimp or something...i bought it because it is a serious sports car that is sooo much fun to drive.

I have had a lot of problems in areas that aren't even very crowded....smaller cities....I can't imagine what it will be like if I try to take it downtown Portland Oregon...anyone else having issues with people acting like jackasses cuz of your S2K?

When I park the car, there are so many hand/forehead prints on the side windows from people trying to look inside, I may have to start buying my Windex by the case!

LOL! Imagine driving in a total Asian community in LA. I've learned tolerance.

I have only had my car for about three weeks now and I would have to say that the attention (and lack thereof!) that it gets, is one of the biggest negatives of owning this car. I do admit, it is nice when someone appreciates what you have -- not cool when they act like idiots because of jealousy or stupidity. I had a custom 2000 HD Softtail that got a lot of attention but the S2000 is ridiculous!

This weekend on the Beltway, I am trying to get over one lane to the right. I had been driving very mildly as there was heavy traffic. I put my right turn signal on going past a Lexus LS400 -- the old man decided to speed up to check out my car, but then doesn't speed up OR slow down so that I can get over. This went on for almost 2 miles -- UNREAL!

I won't sell it though -- WAY, WAY too much fun!

Yep, I know what you mean, I just try to ignore it, like on Saturday afternoon, some teenagers in a older (84-85) Mustang conv. The one with the Grandma looking cheesy hubcaps, (4 or 6cyl) was at the light saying chirp them, lay rubber doood! I had my 71 year old mother with me (she really loves the car) even if it's a bitch for her to get in out of. They said give grandma a thrill, I just nodded and waved to them thinking, I bet your parents are proud, oh boy. (Sarcasm).
Although today at lunch time I was at Taco Bell (cheap lunch) and I walk in and this tuff looking guy wearing some cool shades watches me park the S2K, I walk in to Taco Bell and he says in a low key voice "nice ride" I said "thanks".

most people have been cool, but it seems like (at night mostly) there are a enough total jerks...to really make owning this car a pain. Hopefully in year or so...maybe it will calm down when they aren't so rare...i don't know...and honda's happen to be really easy to steal.

If you buy an alarm from the local stereo store and expect that to protect you...you are kidding yourself, but the stock alarm is even worse. Make sure you get a really nice alarm and have a real pro install it....or do it yourself.

I know what you mean. On Sat. night I stopped at a local 50's style drive in right by my house to get a milkshake (best ones around) and then go home to do paper work. Well almost 15 minutes later I am 'allowed' to leave by this group of fuds that were hanging out there in their 'riced' (no offence ment) Dodge neon. It starts when I walk back to my car and they follow me over with one guy saying 'hey lets go look at the chunk of import' Anyway (short version) I just shut up - smiled polietly and eventually was able to get in my car and drive away. 30 seconds later they go blasting past and round the same bend I was headed to... I round the curve and there they are - - pulled over by the men in blue and just getting pulled out of the car .... I waved and smiled as I passed.
LOSERS!
However the odd ahole does not negate how much this car rules!

Funny thing... I witnessed an accident this afternoon. A nissan SE_R with a loud exhaust rear ended a SUV... he was reving it up while in front of me(and behind the SUV), and then the light changed... he could not wait to move over a lane to be beside me... he started changing lanes, the SUV braked for traffic in front of him, and since the nissan was looking at me in the rear view, crash!
