Can't relate....only people here with alarms are from California. Maybe you should move to Lake Oswego?

Man, If I lived in a place called Beaverton, I'd want all the attention I could get... (Sorry. That's probably really old.) Seriously though, I hardly get any attention at all here in Dallas. Especially in this section of the woods, there's tons of rare cars.

The idiots are outthere, but I must say most of my experiences have been great! The Lotus driver complimenting me from his bright yellow convertible, pulling in to restaurant or store parking lots and getting nods of approval, going on fun drives in the hills and getting the look and smile from others driving the same road. I love it. Definitely nothing but 's.

As for the alarm...its too bad you gotta use it some places. Living in Silicon Valley helps since the S2000 is just an average car here. I park top down alot. I figure thats why I have insurance. and now that a blue S2000 may be out here...hmmmmm.

Are you familiar with the little burb of Sherwood?

I was leaving my car there until someone tried to steal one of my sidemarker lights... mind you, old town is a small area of mostly businesses and shops... not like a ghetto or anything.

Taking the bus to PSU is a drag, only comes once per hour during the day. So, I tried leaving my car at the Tigard Transit Center (PDX people would know where this is). That place is kinda creep, since its purely curbside parking and the scum of the earth can get off at the same spot you and I would...

This is the MAIN reason why I am selling my car... it sure is depressing. I could buy a cheap beater, but my budget with school and living, and not working doesn't allow for a "nice" beater. The one I could afford would probably cost that much in repairs the first year

Of all places, it seemed that downtown on Broadway (PSU) was actually pretty safe. I just found a good spot, and drove around until I found one. Of course, that meant passing up some less than ideal spots (and I am REALLY ANAL)... Spots I wouldnt mind parking a regular car, but parking something as special as the S... no way! Plus, the meter fees can add up at $1 per hour for 8 hours of the day...

ok, off topic

Someone find my S a good home The scummy Honda dealer that will eventually get my car from the Subaru dealer (I'm getting a Silver WRX wagon -- a car that should get me NO attention!) will be really marking it up. They have a 9000 mile Silver that is going for 34000. Mine will likely be listed at 30 or more.

Anyways, back on topic.

I've gotten generally positive attention from the car. People walk by at restaurants and peek inside. On the roads, people often ask what kind of Honda is that...

Nobody is gonna ask what kind of Subaru I have

I thought the S2000 would make a cool college car, so I sold my Vette. Infact, the S2000 makes a terrible college car, unless you live on campus with secure parking, or its a short drive...

I agree it is a royal pain in the butt with some of the attention this car brings. My stook is a daily driver-- and all I want to do is go to work and come home just *one day* without having some riced up civic acting like a jackass and trying to race me the whole way. It's really annoying as hell. I wonder if people who own Ferrari's and such have the same problem as we do?

But I love my car too-- and there ain't no way in hell I'm selling it.

No..ferraris have less problem...it is the fact that we drive a 15 year old, punk ricers wet dream...that causes the problems.

I like the attention factor. But I hate worrying about the parked car if I'm at the movies or something similar. Makes me want a video camera in the car with an RF link to my Dick Tracy watch.

Funny, my G'friend's Jeep Grand Cherokee costs about the same as my S2K but we can park it ANYWHERE and not worry about ANYONE messing with it. Go figure.

I was paranoid at first. Still am... LOL

The attention stopped it seemed, until the body kit. Now I turn heads like crazy.

Atleast nobody puked on/into your new stook right? Yup happened to me. The positives out weigh the negatives.

My son wiped out on the way to the S on some stones one day, and he is crying his eyes out, when a Mustang pulled up, the guy got out, and no regard for me giving my son attention he says "cool ride" I thought that was classy.

If you want the car you have to take the good with the bad, and for the bad, you have insurance. However, don't put a cap in somebody's ass, because they are the 5th asshole of the day.

Another funny story, a rice boy past me the other day with his Honda emblems on upside down, or was it mine, I went home and check, I put my red ones on fine, he was wrong :-)
