i hate this $hit....
Wow, to those who have had negative attention, I'm sorry to hear that! So far, I've had no negative attention, all positive.
For example, today I was exploring tha backroads of Irvine and I'm at the front of a stoplight and behind me is an 18-wheeler. After about 30 seconds at the light, the huge 18-wheeler starts to back up a little, and then pulls into the right hand turn lane next to me to start complimenting and asking questions about my car! I felt honored that he went to the effort to move his huge beast of a vehicle just to get a good look and say something.
I'd have to say that I was very anal about where I parked at first, but I'm pretty good about just parking it normally now and not worrying too much about it. If something bad should happen, that's what insurance is for! I've decided to just take the easy measures and be done with it, like parking at the end of a row of spaces (50% chance of door ding), etc.

Hmmm,
I've only gotten one negative comment so far. A bunch of teenagers were crossing the street and one of the boys yelled "That's a sissy car.", I responded "You should know." (I know mature...but they were kids) His friends had fun with that, he shut up.
Other than that, the car gets smiles, thumbs up and comments from just about everyone that pays attention to it. Yesterday is was an M5 Driver that mouthed (it was raining hard) "I Love Your Car" kind of like one of those Levi Dockers commercials.
Even down in Portland and Beaverton I have a great response to the car.
I HAVE been told to slow down twice by pedestrains. But being in first gear in a 35 MPH zone its hard to be going too fast. I think the engine noise scares them.
Two most common comments:
Great Ride
You Look Good (not sure if that's a compliment to me or the car - I'll give the car the credit)
MUCH more positives than I get in the Land Cruiser.
