If I did Blue I'd want the same color I had on my hatchback which was a custom silverish blue metallic basecoat with House of Kolor Kandy Oriental Blue over it with ice pearls dusted into the Kandy.... which was major $$ but the most beautiful blue to me ever in person.

usually they blend it. i think it's impossible to get a perfect match since the sun probably changes the color from exposure
hope everything works out okay.

if your going to repaint your car i'd go

-Monte Carlo Blue (the best blue there is)
-Imola Orange (Bright Vibrant but you have to like it)
-Moonrock (awesome color!, i havent seen that many moonrock s2k's i think i've only seen 3-4 pics of em. if it was my choice i'd chose this color)

Well it was blended into the hood, which is the crazy part becaue the whole hood don't match the passenger side fender now and it wasn't fully painted but was cleared completely of course. There must be somethign weird going on with the clear he was using or something that turning the silverstone into graystone....

I've done paint and body before so I understand the basics of everything, which is why this is so frustrating because there is no reason why it shouldn't be matched.

Monte Carlo - still a stock blue but is gorgeous.. still doesn't hold a candle to House of Kolor Kandy blues such as oriental though.. but aahhhh I love MC!

Imola.. I like but too flashy for me

Moonrock.. this is where my ideas were heading towards when my friend mentioned this BMW color. I figure hey.. if I'm going to end up respraying the whole car.. why go with a factory color even if its not available here.. its still a factory S color.. so not so unique in that aspect.

Glad to see you agree with teh uniqueness of the BMW color

Everything is still up in the air right now as I search for a new painter.

i feel your pain man....i just got into an accident and know that i will never get the painter to match it perfectly like factory....i too am considering a color change to a nice gunmetal color or MC blue or some kind of black....but MC blue and gunmetal are my top 2 choices...

U don't hate it U just want it look right!
I know exactly what you mean.

I had my front and rear spoilers done last week. The guy checked the paint code and told me there are at least three different shades according to which paint manufacturer you go with I went with Sikkens as they only had a single shade. I reckon it is a shade light!?

I also got a couple of cans made up by a different guy to do the HID washers and rear lower lip. These were a couple of shades lighter!

U can just see it in this shot

IIRC UV oxidation is also a factor

Still I love the look

Hope that made U feel better about Silverstone
