Default I have 2 questions about

1. Anyone heard of or use WIX oil filters???? Am I gonna be sorry I bought one??

2. I was at the dealership and they ordered me a new soft top because of some recall. I have a MY00 and was wondering if they will install the one with a glass window or plastic window. The guy looked perplexed when I asked him about it.

1. I've heard bad stories about non OEM filters on this car. Apparently there is a bad history of them backing off and spilling oil everywhere. The only particular case I know was with the mobil1 high flow filter though and it was during a track day. The WIX might be ok as long as you aren't tracking it I guess

2. They'll proably replace it with the same part number, i.e. another plastic window unless you specially asked for the glass. To change it to the glass, you would need a whole new frame, not just the fabric. Of course, there are mods that will let you adapt an older frame to fit a glass window, but I doubt the dealer would bother doing that.

Wix is a premium filter. Great company thats been in the business for years. I used to sell them where I worked and in a good, better, best scenario, they are always considered best among aftermarket. I would try to stick to the o.e. to be on the safe side though. If you have any doubts, go buy an o.e and compare the two. Then just save it for your next oil change.

search the forums... there are many details specified as to why you should consider using an oem filter. Honda has a special "PCX" filter just for the s2000... it has 8 inlet holes on the bottom instead of 6, and some think a higher PSI setting for the bypass valve to handle the higher oil pressure of the s2000 at high RPMs. Not that expensive, I ordered a pack of 6 from hardtopguy.com for only $6 each.
