I second the headunit or radar detecrtor.

X-Brace may not be a bad idea either.

Lotsa little goodies on this website - I would try and get some info out of him if you can without being too obvious!
I'd go with the shift knob. Definitely one of my most favorite mods and it's not too expensive.

If he's obsessed with his car I would ask him for a top 5 list of what he wants.

I hate it when I get crap that I would never put inside or outside of my car.

*edit
I think the die cast model is safest choice.
You can get it for $30 here: http://www.handaaccessories.com/merchandise.html
I've got one and it just sits right on top of my computer reminding me what an incredible car I own.

though the voodoo is an excellent idea, i would be concerned about ship dates.
dependent upon stock, it may take ricks considerable time to ship it. maybe even receiving it well after his birthday.

email them and see what they have in stock. since your man has a 2001, i'd pick up the following in this order:
- black console cover (solid top, perforated sides, red stitching)
- black shift boot with red stitching
- magnum voodoo knob (pearl is quite inexpensive and still looks great)
- tinted 7/8th's windscreen.
and if youre feeling generous:
- floor mats (black w/ red piping and silver logo)
and if youre feeling ultra generous:
- rick's stainless headers

-or-

call up once of the jdm vendors from the board and ask them what small goodies they have available for quick shipment.. the ARC plug cover comes to mind.. but mind you, true jdm pieces are quite expensive so you may not get as many cool things for your buck.

btw, do you have a sister?

here's a recent picture of me (to pass along to your sister):

How about a tank of gas and hotel and dinner reservations for two ... you know, at that secluded place a few hours away ... the one that you think about when things get hectic at work. Now, was that it in the mountains or by the water. It doesn't much matter because it's under the stars and that twisty road leads right to the door. What, they don't have telephones in the rooms and there is no cell phone coverage either, "what will we do?" Who says you can't enjoy his present as much as he will.

p.s. If he's not available my number is ... ...-....

ahh.. i have alot of those suggestions

I got in on that Shift Knob Group Buy at Rick's and ordered a spun aluminum shift knob. It only took like 3 days to get from the time I placed the order.. cross country!

I picked up a nice DieCast off of eBay, the one we spent a bit of money for is in the display case at home, the one that I paid like ~$8 for is on a sheft in my office at work

Die cast will keep you from buying something that he hates.

The knobs might not float his boat.

An IOU note for sex with the top down on the secret compartment would probably be a nice added bonus.

Just MHO.

Honda apparel is always a good idea. Jacket, sweatshirt, t-shirt, hat, etc.

On the apparel suggestion, here's a link for a nice hat that says "S2000"

No mention of Honda which some guys prefer.

I bought one for my husband.
