OK here is my advice.

I say you just buy a couple of cold 40s, Barry White on the stereo, and celebrate the birthday the right way...perhaps moving to the backseat parked by the ocean(if it applies)....

I think you get the idea.

In my best Barry White...."OHHHHH YEAHHHH Baby"

with Lee.

While the Voodoo knobs are nice (mine came yesterday, loving it) he can get that himself.

Alcohol and Barry White for oneself isn't just sad, its kinda creepy. But as a present,

The OEM brushed aluminum shiftknob that comes on the car is the hottest shift knob ever, so changing it would be a bad idea! I don't know if they changed it in 01, but the 00 is completely awesome. I'd go with some clear side markers and S badges from ricks, or if you want to spend more than a hundred bucks, possibly a new head unit if his is stock. The stock head unit is garbage, and so are the speakers.

I hate it when I get crap that I would never put inside or outside of my car.
I have to second that. I had a girlfriend once who spent $200 on a radar detector, but it wasn't a brand I trusted so I never used it.

Does Rick's have gift certificates?

Since he has a silverstone S2000, get him a hat or a polo shirt from the Silverstone Circuit in england.

As a silverstone owner myself, I have one, and I bet 1. he does not, and 2, neither do too many if any of his friends.

Unique, shows you cared and put some thought in, car related, etc.

I won't have much cash...maybe like $200 by then. He is more into performance not so much the bling part of it all - anyhting to make it faster! He said something about a clear bra once..."it's like plastic wrap" or something like that.

1. The 3M 'clear" bra is going to cost more than that.
2. It will not make the "car go faster"
3. Getting the film installed right is a bit of "art" and so if it were my car, I'd be real particular as to who did it, and would want to be involved in the decision as to who would do it.

How about a gift certificate to the place where he buys tires, has the car detailed or the honda dealer service dept or parts dept.??

um
You won't be able to get him anything to make his car "go faster" for less than $600
