ok guys from my time on this board iv found that almost all of you have great taste when it comes to your cars, this board seems to be so much more mature and clean about there cars so im going to ask this here

what is your guys opinion on a grand prix white S with a carbon fiber hood, black oem hardtop, and a carbon fiber trunk, and that little piece between the hardtop and the trunk painted black

now in my head that looks good, my first question is do you guys think that looks good

and second question is do you think it whould look wrong being a carbon fiber hood then just a black hardtop then a carbon fiber trunk

i just wish someone made a oem style carbon fiber hardtop, as much as i like the mugen carbon hardtop, i think the oem is just so much cleaner and smoother and flows with the car better, in its simple form, see the only other exterior mods whould be 04-05 headlights(this will be on a 02-03 S) and maybe 04-05 taillights, oem front lip and oem wing

now im not to sure on rims yet but im leaning towards black 17 inch Volk Te37's, if i go with the cf hood, black HT, and cf trunk



also i still haven't completely decided on a GPW, i still might get a berlina or maybe a NFR, i cant decide, my type r should be sold very soon, and im going to be picking up the S like either that day or the day after, and im going to be making alot of money off the sale of my car, so im going to save most of it , but im going to spend a nice chunk on the S right away and then mod it a little as i go as i see fit and find more stuff i like


i got the whole black top thing from none other the new the NSX-R concept, and since i cant afford a new nsx yet, im going to get the next best thing

My first reaction is to say that it would look like Pepe Le Pew. Seriously though, if you look through the gallery I'm almost certain you will find pictures of a car with the same setup. If you like it, go for it. You're the one that's paying for and riding in it. Who cares if anyone else likes it.

 

i dont think it would look bad at all! maybe you can find a pic or two of a cf hooded GPW and photoshop a black hardtop on it just to see? definitely think the black volk's would look stellar on a GPW car!

GPW with CF was my first choice but the >04's only come with tan interior so I went with Silverstone which turned out to be a better decision overall.

Your set up will look good. I actually think the Black OEM top would look better than a CF OEM top even if they made one.

CF trunk, hood on GPW has been done before but it always looks good.
The strip on the trunk that you want to paint black......I would leave alone or you can also get it CF wrapped for not too much.

Sounds like your trying to determine which car to buy pending your modification options. Don't get too caught up on that. What ever color you buy you will have limitless options to help spend your money.

BUY THE CAR FIRST!!
