S2000 Talk Discussions related to the S2000, its ownership and enthusiasm for it.

I need some convincing to buy a 2002 S2000.

The S2000 is a $30K car, did that get lost somewhere?? Of course it's not a Z06 but I think he already knows that. He wants the best sports car for the buck and I think that's why he's here.

You've come to the right place my friend Talk to SoCal Craig (on the site) a Viper owner and new S2000 owner. I don't know what his impressions are but it's a pretty fair opinion. What the S lacks in power it more than makes up for in handling and pure driving feel and excitements. If you need that pushback in the seat when you hit the gas you will be unsatisfied. I'd suggest a Cobra Rustang. It's has that sort of torque. If you want pure driving bliss, get the S2000

Why don't you just get a used 2000 corvette for about $29,000? It's not a Z06, but much it has more power than the S2000.

Most of the people that I have talked with who are American Muscle drivers don't like the S becasue of the lact of torque. I myself came from driving a 125 hp civic so I am not bothered by the lack of torque.

You need to convince yourself, not get advice from us. We bought our cars, not as a way to save money, but because we love the way the engineers have executed this product.

The S2000 is certainly not a replacement for a Corvette. They are completely different in the way they approach the relationship between the driver and the car itself.
