Default I need some help BAD. Please read....

Tonight I felt sick, so on the way home I felt I wasn't fit to drive so I let my friend (who has driven manual since his first car) drive. This is where the problems started. While in 4th he was goin to shift to 5th and went to 3rd instead. Bounced the rev limiter super hard. Pulled over, car smoking, oil leaking everywhere. Car is being taken into the shop tommorow. I know that a piston went right through making the oil flow out. I also know that the valve will be bent badly. How long am I looking at for recovery, and will i need a new engine?

You're feeling sick and you let your friend drive over a 100 mph?!? If he was driving within the speed limit or a little above this wouldn't have happened. what are you thinking?!

most likely a few bent valves, so a head rework, maybe a week or two.

Might be worse: "oil leaking everywhere"

Can't help you there, cannot see the extend of the damage but it sure doesn't sound like it's a light matter. Sorry, I just don't understand ... You should not have let anyone driven the car if they don't have experience with an S2K. That's the problem with it's also your friend, is he gonna pay for the damage voluntarily or do you have to cover all the costs because you were the one who asked him to drive?

Number one, I would delete the evidence of this thread immediately. I doubt you could get this covered under warranty anyway, but I sure wouldn't create a thread admitting to my friend over reving my engine.

You might be able to get it covered under warranty for over revving. Some lucky people have been able to get this done as a one time good will gesture.

Guess your friend is never going to be allowed to drive the S2K again.

Update: As of 7AM the car was on the way to Staten Island Honda for assesment of the damage...will keep update going until car is done.

I am only mad at myself for letting someone else drive the car. If I felt too sick to drive, I shouldnt have gone out. That way I wouldn't have needed my friend to drive home. I will learn when my new engine gets put in...

Good luck explaining it to the dealer. Hope the damage is minimal.
