I would probably say the RX-8 is the closest. Has a back seat and revs to 8k, but as some mentioned, gas is terrible and reliability is still in question. Anyways, why do you want to drive people around? I got the S so I don't have to waste gas and drive peeps around.

Me too. I mean, just having room for one passenger is nice because I always hated loading four or five people into something like a Civic. One passenger is great, and doesn't take away from the light, fast handling of the car.

simple solution - have someone else drive. Having an S gives you a reason for them to drive too.

The Civic Si sedan is so fun to drive. My gf got one after I bought my TSX. I loved driving it over my TSX (AT), but now we fight over who gets to drive the S.

I'm in the same boat as DDonovan. Wifey and the three little ones get the Odyssey, and I drive my S.

Had an Si sedan for a year until I got back into an S. It isn't bad...VTEC's kind of a letdown after driving a S, though. That's really the only downside. And it's just as fast as an RX-8!

The best solution is alternative people haulers.....

Me = 08 S2000 + 06 Volvo XC90

Wife = 08 G35X + 06 Pacifica Limited

The SUV's come in handy for hauling all the stuff associated with home ownership and foul weather and people transport and vacations with kids and towing. But, they are utility vehicles as the label clearly states. Comfortable, but no fun. While the S2000 is a sports car as the label clearly states. Fun, but not terribly utilitarian. There is no 4 door sedan or coupe that combines the light weight of the S2000 with a 8-9K redline and topless driving. The closest is a BMW 335i convertible. But, it's much heavier and the back seat is a joke.
