E46 M3. High redline, high HP/L, and it has a backseat. Won't be as nimble.

simple solution - have someone else drive. Having an S gives you a reason for them to drive too.

I bought the S for myself not to drag friends around. Don't they have cars? If not then they're shit out of luck.

no one has yet mentioned any car that is remotely like the S.

You are all mentioning cars and forgetting the one most important item that makes the S what it is...its not performance although that is nice around the corners, ITS A CONVERTIBLE, all the other cars you mention are mommy wagons.

you could always get a used evo or sti, not as reliable but they handle pretty well and have plenty of power

Get a 04-05 STi and remove the front drivetrain. That way you can still have the RWD fun

My gf and I both wanted sports cars but agreed we needed at least one practical car to share, so I kept my Accord when I bought the S and she bought the 350Z in my sig. I daily drive the Accord and keep the S under a car cover for special days. She daily drives the Z.

That was my first thought. Maintenance will be more but the prices on them are falling. BUT, for the price of that, you could get a civic beater and an S, which is what I would do.
