Most likely 4 days for the repairs, the rest is getting the parts and letting her start to cure.

I don't know about y'all, but when I started parking far away from people, at least 25% of the time I would get jerks who come and park right next to me clearly trying to be funny or just being jerks. What I do now, especially if I'm running into a store and will be out in 10 minutes, I find a spot between 2 cars already parked and back in as far as I can. That way since I'll be out quickly there is less chance of door dings because I'll probably beat those people back out to the car and since I'm backed in pretty far anybody across the lane backing out it doesn't matter as much if they can't see me since they'd probably hit the two cars on either side of me first.

I don't think there's a tried and true way to go about it but this is the way I do it. Jerks gunna be jerks.

Yeah, thats what I did was just back in next to someone... apparently they weren't pleased with that.

Here's the bad update. The address his plates were registered to, he no longer lives at. So for now -- he got away.

Man that almost looks intentional. What did you have subframe damage to go down that bad from a hit in a parking lot? He couldn't have backed out that hard did he? Post the dashcam on Youtube and put him in the house of shame. Feel for you though. Schmucks everywhere but you shouldnt stay home just because you are afraid someone might hit your car. Maybe I'll invest in a dashcam after this. Have a cherry M3 still.

It's worse for him if it's a hit and run and you have proof. If the lazy cops do a real search they could find him. That car will come up for registration sometime.

He was parked next to me, and pulled out with his wheels turned completely instead of going out straight for a few feet. I was advised by the police office not to post the video until the investigation is complete since it would risk it being dismissed as evidence if it ever went to court.

Looks great! I love resolution. I hope it's as good in person as it looks in this photo. A little tire dressing and you're good to go.

I'd say the photo doesn't do it enough justice! They did a fantastic job, and the clear bra was applied 100x better than whoever had it done before. Might go back just so they can clear bra the rest too!

Not sure of the laws in your state but one possible action, since you know his name and at least a past address, is to sue in small claims court (here that costs a $35 filing fee) which gets a bench warrant/subpoena issued and forces the local Sheriff to find him. If he doesn't show for the court date, you win by default then ... here is the fun part ... you can have the Court garnish his wages and tax refund where ever he is until you get your money back. Did that a few years back to a similar "hit & run", took over 6 months but got my expenses back.

Repair looks good, sorry it happened at all though.
