I'm not 100% sure, and I'm not about to go try it out again lol...but I think it was around 7,000rpm.

What is the deal about pickups these days and why do they want to race or try and intimidate me in my S-2000?
I think they are jealous and figure they need to prove that they don't "need no fancy jap scrap sports car" to have a good time.

this thread reminds me of my first car(87 rx7) it had a dummy gauge that told you to shift, one of those things you shouldn't need but theirs always someone who does need it.

The rev limiter changes from 5,500 initially, then 7,000 when the engine is warmer (just before it changes to two bars)and then back to normal. Hope this helps. Just for the record after speaking to a Honda/Accura technician, you can hit the limiter as much as you want as its an electrical cut off not a mechanical cut out and therefore will not damage the engine. That goes for both cold limit and max rev limit.

Is this for pre-04s, or all model years? Or for MY04+?

might sound stupid after you remind us all about the 3 bars, but I let my car idle for 5 minutes (outside temp around 20c), drive VERY carefully for another 5 minutes shifting @ 3k and as I floor it....you know the rest...what is actually funny is that the REV limiter is not fixed, sometimes it kickes in @ 4k!!!! At least I know I have no water in the engine after reading a few thread today..thank you guys
