I test drove a '00 S2k for the first time today
Today i went and test drove an '00 S2000.

26,000 miles.
I got the dealer to come down to $20,400 as it was his personal driver for the past 2 years and this was a small dealership.
The body is clean, no dings, just a few small scrapes on the front bumper at the bottom.
Pros:
Looks great, handles well. Interior ergonomics are excellent. 9k redline is one of few cars that is higher than my gsr.
Cons:
I found my head seeming too close to the front drivers side pillar, with that blocking a lot of my view.
Gear noise. It was horrible, this is the one thing that most bugged me about the car. When driving 35-40 mph and not on the gas it was horribly loud. I've heard of people complaining a little about the gear noise, but this was bad.
Rear plastic window. It was raining a little, so I couldnt see a thing out that window. Also the passenger side blindspot is really bad to.
I live in Seattle, where its only sunny May-August, and the rest of the time is rain rain rain. I love the looks of this car and its engine, but i'm not too sure if I should get it. Right now i'm driving a supercharged 95 gsr integra that i've had for the past 4 years and im getting bored of it.
I know $20,400 is a good fair price for this car, but im not too sure still. I think i might have to come back monday after i talk to my bank and if its dry out to be able to bring her to 9k and then it might change my mind. What is your guy's opinions of having a car like this in the seattle area, for a guy whose 21 years old and still gonna be doing grad school for the next 4 years doing law/mba . I think it would be a nice car, good respect from people, but im not too sure about a daily driver. Did you owners wait until you were older, or does anyone on here have the same situation I'm in where they're trying to upgrade to a nicer and more respected car finally after getting out of their cool high school/college car?
thanks for your opinions in advance.

Martin... I already saw that car and it wasn't good... The owner is also the owner of the dealership and he had this very aggresive attitude towards me... The guy claims he bought it used and only put a couple thousand miles on it? (And that he was selling it to buy a porche...) Well at least thats what the carfax told me... I recommend staying away from his dealership full of hondas... But that's just me
you live in the NW? Welcome to premium prices for s2k man, 20-22k is a good price for low mileage s2ks so jump on it when you can if it looks good when you drive and look. Yeh today @##@@! rained hard

He was open about the history of all of his cars, if they were salvage titles (some of which were), and what repairs had been done.
That gear noise / clutch spring noise as someone said, is the biggest thing the bugged me since it was so freaking loud. So that would be fixed if i took it into my nearest honda dealer for free?
Why do you say it wasnt a good car?
its martin vs ant for an s2k
Silverstone looks hot even hotter in the sun and at night when lights are shining on it
BTW good mileage
I got mine a lil lower but when you think about for an 00 thats barely any driving and probably babied.

shit that price sounds around what I paid for my 2001 in 2004. I paid 26,000 and mine had 18,000 miles
I think that I might have over paid but I'm loving my S

And to the potential buyer, the Honda dealer may NOT replace the clutch disk for free since a TSB is not officially a recall. If you are going to get the car and replace the friction disc, go with the most recent version, an ACT HD pressure plate, and maybe a lightened flywheel. It's good to get all of this taken care of at once if you plan on doing any of it. When you see what's involved with changing a clutch on this car, you'll see why.
