Test drove S2K today
What can I say? I was supposed to go and test this thing out on Saturday, but I took half a day and tried it this morning. What a machine!!! Handles so much better than my GSX - and it feels more tight and more powerful than my dad's Supra TT - I was testing a 01' Red with red interior model. They wouldn't let me try the silver one they had there, but I will go back on Saturday to check out its interior differences. One thing I noticed - the digital tach threw my ass off big time. Plus the salesman was caught off guard cause I surprised him today with the visit - so we had limited time. Because my GSX is so predictable, I don't bother looking at the tach most of the time to be honest, unless I'm racing - usually I just know what gear by what speed I'm going - but this time, there was no way to know - I was in 4th gear probably wayyy before I should have been - but I did notice that I was keeping a steady 4k rpms throughout my drive - especially on residental roads, which unfortunately was most of the trip. I have to ask you all, when your crusing, not racing, whats a safe rpm to be at? I know by reading all your posts that you're really not driving the car at its fullest potential unless you're in the 8k rom range - but for crusing, what the safest zone to be in? Sorry for a novice question, but I don't want to ruin this car when I get it. Oh and the test drive sold me big time - no contest - I need not test drive anything else.
