Default I think im obsessed

So had the S for about 1.5 months now and promised myself I wouldn't let it get rained on. No bullsh1t, I had a dream two days ago (or rather a nightmare) that I was trapped in the rain and just had to watch my poor little s2k get drenched (the top was up and it still upset me). Since I might be psychic, this was a premonition of what happened today. This morning...beautiful weather, and about 30 min ago it started raining. I quickly told my colleagues I was taking a late lunch and quickly drove the S home, hauling ass down the highway to get most of the water off, and put it in the garage. I grabbed a microfiber towel and quickly got the rest of the water off the rear. I think I'm obsessed....

A little...

I try to keep mine out of the rain. But I'm less interested in keeping it form getting rained on as I am from having to drive it in the rain.

running a microfiber towel over rain water after it hasn't been properly washed will do more damage to your car than just leaving it in the rain then washing later.....

there's still a bunch of loose dirt settled on your car. running a towel over that will cause marring

sorry to tell ya

obsessed? abscessed?

One is fixated, the other is infected. Maybe you meant both?

You might talk to your health care professional about a vaccine.

OK, I'm also nearly as obsessed - garaged with "outings" during great weather. But I don't worry about a little adverse weather. (I just wash it after the fact - and scrub it down with Q-tips after the event.)

Contact with rain is not a big deal. As 00CivicSi implied, contact with something else due to rain can be a lot worse.

No, I think what happens is that the water lift's up the dirt and particles and even with a wet or dry microfiber, you are still actually doing more damage.

Only time to put a cloth on the paint is after a fresh wash to dry.

but you hadn't just washed the dirt off with soap and water.

if you want to do a quick wipe of something on your paint, keep some quick detailer or spray wax handy. you need lubrication to avoid the scratches. otherwise, it's like washing your car without soap -- you just rub it all across the surface as the cloth picks it up, and it's like uber fine grit sandpaper when you have a black car.
