i think a 240 HP n/a stock 2.0L engine is VERY impressive.
gobs of torque? duh. its a 4banger
did i say thats what the s2000 is about?
Personally, I am happy with the perfomance and economy of the S2k. I really don't care if Honda used a 32 valve four cyclinder (they have one) or pushrod V8. As long as the car handles well and does roughly 6 sec to 60mph and gets mileage in the mid 20s.
And keeps the convertable top!

I have to disagree on the trunk. Wife and I travelled for a week last year. It was tight but doable. Clothes, cooler, car wash supplies. We were OK.
Guys, the 240Z is a hardtop, not a roadster. Japanese GT car? Maybe, but the Datsun/Nissan Fairlady (1600cc and later 2000cc) roadsters did far more to define the Japanese sports car than any GT/hard-top car ever did. LOL, kids. Do any of you even remember the Fairlady?

True, the Z is a Fairlady, but the ORIGINAL was a roadster, not a GT car. Nobody use to debate whether or not a sports car had to be a ragtop, but the world changes. "Ain't" didn't use to be in the dictionary either, and I still think that using the word is wrong.

Prior to the Mustang it was pretty much a given that a sports car was a roadster, and a roadster has a rag top. Them terms like "sporty car" were introduced, kids got interested, and the proper names for things got lost in a sea of chaos. Brock Yates you to like to grumble (even more than me) about such things.
Dang Dan what did you do, put the top down while the plastic was cold and brittle?

Well the reason the Fairlady didn't have a huge impact whereas the 240Z did, and infact the very reason Nissan developed the 240Z sports coupe was the zeitgeist of the time in the US.
The US in the mid to late 60's was extremely concerned about safety and convertibles were seen as unsafe. Nissan developed the 240Z for the US market and it was a hit.

Now I get to decide whether or not to have only the rear window replaced or the entire top

Or leave it with a strip of tape...
