Umm i care about, and 0-60 doesnt matter? So if i had 11 seconds to 0-60 that wouldent affect my 1/4 mile at all? haaa!
As everyone has stated, if you were able to get your 0-60 .1 second faster, you'd still have the EXACT 1/4 mile time or WORSE. And your 0-60 time isn't even calculated in the 1/4 mile. It's your 60 FOOT time.

When 15 people are telling you not to do something, you should probably just listen to them and stfu. You could just spend the money you're about to waste on taller gears or EMS and just put it towards a supercharger.

You are the classic case of a TOOL.

Anyways beside this coward, im not going with gears anymore, ima just have a higher rev limit when I fully sleeve my engine.

everyone else wants shorter gears for faster acceleration but you want the opposite?
Gearing does not accelerate the car. It does make a difference at the bottom end (where you can't shift any lower than first gear, important to drag racing) and at the top end (where you can't shift any higher than sixth, important to sixth gear fuel mileage and potentially to top speed). Other than that, it only makes a difference for shift points, not overall acceleration. This has all been covered before, many times.

I have some bad news for you (*well actually for others who have "regular" AP2s). Your AP2 car is geared to go 151 mph. It just so happens that unless you are ............................
1. Going downhill
2. Going with a strong tail wind
3. Supercharged or turboed
4. Being pushed from behind by a Viper or a Vette
Or drafting a faster car!

Sleeves aren't going to matter when your piston comes flying out the bottom of your engine b/c of the speed. The real stress is on the rods and the crank. The 2.2 was stroked from the 2.0 so you revving at 9krpms is like the AP1 revving at 10 or 11k rpms. Anyway, my point is you're looking at a major overhaul to make it reliable when you can just spend less money by selling the engine you have and buying a 2.0.

??? What do you mean shorter final drive gear doesn't do anything for overall acceleration and only changes shift points? And gears don't accelerate the car??

Line up my S2000 and a stock S2000, and start at say 35mph in 2nd gear for both cars. Mash the gas, and watch my car accelerate to the top of 2nd gear faster than the stock car. yet gears dont affect acceleration or overall acceleration?

Even the basic mechanics of the car dictates the exact opposite of what you say, not to mention people have been using shorter final drive gears to improve acceleration (and overall accleration) for YEARS. Shorter gears means faster acceleration. Taller gears means slower acceleration. This is not a new concept.

As cyclone stated, you need a lot more than just re-sleeving the block in order to redline to 9000rpm reliably. You basically have to strengthen the entire bottom end. Rods, rod bolts, etc.

I am with Timg, I like lower ratio gears than stock. I prefer cruising on highway at a lower RPM. How much lower RPMs for AP2 at 75MPH with Mazda's 3.636 ring and pinion ?
